Chris the Sushi Chef

As most of you know, Chris and I are very serious about our food. I love to cook and try out new things in the kitchen, and Chris claims to be the master of the grill. One type of food that we really enjoy together is sushi. Some of our favorite dates have been going out for sushi wherever we are. Chris discovered a sushi making kit while I was visiting him in Iowa last summer and we decided to get it and give it a shot. We get all of the sushi ingredients like wasabi, sushi rice, rice vinegar, soy sauce, etc. We decided that we would try out a variety of rolls and bought some salmon, shrimp, crab, cucumber, avocado, and cream cheese as well. Oh, and you can't forget the seaweed wraps. Eating seaweed sold at Wal-Mart had me feeling pretty skeptical about how this would turn out, but Chris was so excited about it. We made the rice in our new rice cooker and then Chris got to work making the sushi. He worked on it for about an hour and I have never seen so much sushi in my life. He did an amazing job and it tasted fabulous! We will definitely have to try out our sushi expertise for friends some day. Who would have thought that a baseball player from Alabama would have such a talent in sushi making? My husband is impressive! =)
